Hello!
Some time ago, over a glass or two of wine, Urs and I decided we should do a sponsored trek on behalf of my mum to support an amazing charity that provided great support to her while she was suffering from a Grade VI brain tumour. Hence the idea of a "Trek for Big Bad Babs" was born.
The BBB Trek (loving the acronym) will be Urs & I walking the whole of Wainwright's Coast to Coast in August 2013. This is a huge feat - 190 miles in 14 days. We're staying in YHA hostels along the way to get the real Wainwright experience. There will be no rest day and we're hoping that friends and family will join us along the way to keep our spirits up.
We're going to complete this huge challenge all in the name of two great charities - The Brain Tumour Charity & The League of Friends of Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre.
The purpose of this blog is to keep you updated of how Urs and I are getting on with our training towards this somewhat daunting trek; how we fare when on the actual challenge and to shamelessly ask you to donate to our charities. Hopefully you'll find it interesting and funny along the way. Please feel free to comment, join us on the trek or just wish us luck - all will be greatly appreciated.
